About
Holding a Master's in Museum Studies and dual Bachelor's degrees in Studio Art and Chemistry, I bring a truly interdisciplinary approach to museum preservation, curation, and exhibition design.
With over fifteen years in the museum field, I've partnered with more than 20 institutions across Western New York, transforming overwhelming collections into streamlined, accessible cultural assets.
A depth of experience in collections management, innovative exhibition strategies, and creative fundraising
I have specialized coursework in “Preservation Theory and Practice in Italy” and “Paper Restoration in Books and Artwork” honed at the San Gemini Preservation Program in San Gemini, Italy.
An independent study project “Color and Materials Analysis of Original Plaster Finishes in Frank Lloyd Wright’s George Barton House, Buffalo, NY” culminated in presenting the findings at the Frank Lloyd Wright Conservancy Conference in Chicago.
My master’s thesis “Working Methods: The Howard D. Beach Photography Studio Collection of Gelatin Dry Plate Negatives” has been presented at various venues.
In addition to 10 years working on pre-award grant writing and post-award grants compliance, I have also completed the SUNY “Grants and Proposals: If you write it, they will fund!” course.
Two years as assistant editor at Western New York Heritage has given me a solid foundation of the region’s history and a huge appreciation for proofreading and working with a variety of researchers who are passionate about our shared heritage.
My academic background fuels my commitment to staying current with the best practices in collections management, innovative exhibition strategies, and creative fundraising approaches. I am excited to adopt open-source software for organizing and cataloging collections. I embrace emerging technologies like AI to use as tools when developing dynamic exhibits and digital access points.
