The Creative Culture of Bell Aircraft Exhibit

Client: Niagara Aerospace Museum

While the exhibit isn’t yet live, the following is a teaser for the unique exhibit exploring the artists who helped promote a 20th century Western New York aviation powerhouse.

We explore behind the scenes of Bell Aircraft, a prominent company in Western New York. By the mid-20th century, air travel had developed for both leisure and war, becoming mainstream as planes, jets, helicopters, and more were produced. Promotional materials were developed to support this innovation as the era saw a shift toward industrialization.

Through the artistic works of Anthony Sisti and John Carr, The Creative Culture of Bell Aircraft examines the development of aerospace technologies, the humanity behind aviation, and a cultural understanding of Bell's impact on WNY.

The exhibit was developed using the Niagara Aerospace Museum archives and research conducted by Buffalo State’s Museum Studies Exhibit Design & Interpretation class in the Fall 2021 semester. Students include Shayna Diamond, Shannon Gilmartin, Asher Glazer, Anna Kelly, Nicholas O’Connor and Emilia Taylor-Sweet.
